Quite simply - we're passionate about gingerbread with the tiniest attention to detail in everything we do. We are flattered that our competitors have tried to emulate us but there's nothing like The Original Gingerbread Lady. All our creations are baked and decorated by our Founder of The Original Gingerbread Lady herself with no mass automation or off-shore baking that's then assembled and decorated in Sydney's east. What you get is freshly baked gingerbread that smells and tastes delicious that's without preservatives and other nasties. You can taste the difference with our spice blend that has been tweaked over decades to be loved by adults and children alike.

What will my Gingerbread House look like?

The unique nature of The Original Gingerbread Lady is that all the houses are generally decorated with a varying selection of candy lending them to unique and different designs. See the 'Gallery' for a selection of what has been produced in the past. If you were after a particular design this can be accommodated as a 'custom design' and will incur an additional cost. All Mansions have the option of selecting a roof design at no additional cost.

​How long will my Gingerbread House last?

As long as the gingerbread house is kept out of direct sun, heat and humidity it can last for quite some time. All houses and kits sold have a Best Before Date sticker applied. Generally speaking a gingerbread house is best eaten within approximately 8 weeks but can also be stored in an airtight container for more than this period.

​How long will my freshly made Royal Icing last?

As royal icing contains fresh egg whites it is best used within 3 days at room temperature. If kept in the fridge, 7 days. Another option is to freeze it and defrost at room temperature when required. Remember you will need to abide by the storage dates above once at room temperature. Once the royal icing is applied and hardens it lasts as long as the gingerbread.

Is your range dairy free?

No, our gingerbread contains butter.

Do you have Gluten-free gingerbread?

Unfortunately no as we are currently still working on creating the best tasting gluten-free recipe that we are proud of.

​Are there any allergy warnings on your products?

Our products contain eggs (in the icing), gluten (wheat) and may contain soy, milk and traces of tree nuts and peanuts. Please note we do not use nuts in any of our recipes but our ingredients may have come into contact with nuts during the baking process.

Do you bake at home?

No, we bake in a commercial kitchen, are fully insured and registered.

Do you offer corporate orders?

Yes, we work closely with you and cater a package in line with your preferences. We can can include the design, candy selection and colour scheme through to packaging preferences.

Can you come to my office and hold a Gingerbread Workshop for my staff?

Yes, we love popping into workplaces to spread the festive spirit and have several packages available so please reach out to us via our Contact form. Please note we have a limited number of dates available so reserve your spot now.

Can you hold a Pop-Up Shop at our workplace?

We do hold a number of pop-ups in the lead up to Christmas in discerning corporate CBD buildings in between our other commitments. We are also able to travel outside of the CBD should the need arise.

What are your pickup and delivery options in Sydney?

Once an order is placed you will be contacted with several pickup dates/timeframe options to collect from our Studio in Botany. Should delivery be required this will be quoted separately at an additional cost.

​Do you ship interstate?

Unfortunately, due to the delicate nature of freshly baked gingerbread houses we do not ship our houses interstate however we do ship our DIY Kits.
