MY STORY

There’s something magical about the aroma of freshly baked gingerbread wafting through the air. For me, it has always signalled that Christmas is just around the corner.

The Original Gingerbread Lady began more than 15 years ago, when I started baking and decorating gingerbread houses as Christmas gifts for family and friends. What began as a much-loved festive tradition gradually grew into a business built around something I still believe in today — creating beautiful gingerbread that feel every bit as special to receive as it does to give.

Every gingerbread creation is baked from scratch and decorated by hand in my registered commercial kitchen in Sydney. I use quality ingredients with no artificial flavours or preservatives, and each piece is made with care and attention to the smallest details.

Together with the premium range of gingerbread houses, trees, DIY kits and bespoke corporate gifts I also host private and corporate gingerbread decorating workshops throughout Sydney.

One of the highlights of my gingerbread journey was being featured on Channel 9’s Today Show decorating houses with hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo in front of a  national audience.

The heart of my business remains exactly the same as it did more than 15 years ago. My gingerbread is still individually baked, decorated and finished by hand; never factory produced or mass made. From the gingerbread itself to the decoration, presentation and signature gift packaging, I want every creation to feel personal and special.

Whether I’m creating a single gingerbread gift, a bespoke corporate order or welcoming a room full of people to one of my workshops I hope to spread a little Christmas magic one gingerbread house at a time.
